Dylan Thomas Inspired

Hammer Through Daisies takes its name from the poem ‘And Death Shall Have No Dominion’ by Dylan Thomas who explores notions of love overcoming times of adversity. Inspired by the poem, Stephie picked flowers, submerged them in tubs of water and placed these in the freezer overnight. The next morning she opened the freezer and began drawing and photographing the flowers, capturing ice crystals and trapped petals. Stephie shattered the flowers with a hammer, trying to destroy the ice sculptures. They were however, were still beautiful, as was Thomas’ love.

Our prints in this range feature sweeping oil paintings and delicate photography layered together in photoshop and printed onto silk. Our Dylan Thomas Inspired collection was first developed whilst Stephie was at University studying Textiles at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
